Emilia-Romagna, the region we are in, and especially here between Modena and Bologna, is a land of gastronomic excellence known throughout the world.
In every corner, you can find a small restaurant, a trattoria, an osteria where you can eat at the highest levels, without necessarily spending a fortune. There are so many that it is impossible to make a list.
This land is also the home of the world's most famous chef, Massimo Bottura, but if you haven't booked months in advance, it's impossible to find a table at Osteria Francescana, in the historic center of Modena.
This is where Traditional Balsamic Vinegar was born, and in Spilamberto, you can visit the Balsamic Museum. There are many vinegar cellars to visit, all within a 20-minute drive.
Lambrusco is now famous abroad, and in Castelvetro di Modena, the Chiarli wineries are one of the best producers of Grasparossa.
This is also the production area of the king of cheeses, Parmigiano-Reggiano. The Rosola dairy is a Slow Food presidium and is our Parmigiano Reggiano supplier. It is located just past Zocca, a 15-minute drive from us. And it is also chef Bottura's choice: www.gamberorosso.it; www.gazzettadimodena.it.
